View Full Version : Problems with DVD Architect !!

I am using Sonic Foundry DVD Architect and find it great in general, but I have a few niggles I wondered if someone can help with......

1. I can only use AC3 or PCM and not MPG DVD compliant audio, any reason for this ? It does convert it to AC3 but MPG audio works fine with most other authoring software. I am a person more in to fitting more on to a DVD rather then quality.

2. The disc space marker is always 1gb over the correct amount, so if it says the disc is going to 5.4gb it ends up being 4.4gb, no big deal but a bit weird, any reason for this ?

3. I use Vegas 4 to encode AC3 DVD files on the odd occasion, but for some reason when those video files are put in to Architect the audio never plays on the outputted disc, the MPG file plays fine with audio, but put it in Architect and convert to a DVD and it is silent. Any ideas why ? The only way I can get it to work, ironically, is to convert the AC3 audio to MPG and let Architecht convert it back again.

Any help would be much appreciated, thanks :)

Check your settings to make sure everything is set correctly, i've also have dvd arc and have no problems with the dvds that i made. Unforunately it doesn't accept mpg audio. And don't forget to use the optimize section first before compiling the project or it will still reencode your files. And set it so it shows % instead of the size used for the disk, as i also found it shows the size incorrectly or at least not the same way i'm counting.
