to rip a dvd , i would like to do a batch encode but the files i got werre ripped using dvddecryp, so is there a way to edit the d2s file so it thinks it was ripped freshly , because i can make a d2s file by starting the process, but it wants to resume where it left off, how could i edit the d2s file so it looks like i just ripped the movies as fars as dvd2svcd is concerned?

Tia to any one who can help me do this backup with out having to re rip i had to go 2 friends to ripp using his drive, my damn sony crapped out and i'm too broke right now to get a new dvd-rom, so i was hoping some body had ideas as to how 1 would edit the d2s file to think it is never went past the ruipping?

I think you are asking how to increment the process so that restart shows the next step or the step you want? If so just go into the "dvd2svcd project file.d2s" file and hand edit with notepad. Increment or decrement by 1 the "project position". You will have to experiment a little as the project position numbers are not documented to the best of my knowledge. Just keep doing it and do a restart and see what positions are available in the restart dropdown. Hope this helps you.

[Settings]
Project Position=30 <= increment or decrement this number and do a restart.

could you tell me whether or not that number is the same every time? if so what does it usauly start with for project postion, that helps but my prob is my dvd does not work so i cannot make a new d2s right now to compare

I guess the numbers are the same all the time as recover has to know what's up - just a guess.
You can manually change the number and look what recover tells you, at which step you can restart.

@DVD2SVCD:
As I don't know which number means what position, I want to request for a list of all positions - sth. I missed a while ago when I needed those - I hope you are reading this thread :cool:

I think the best number is the one you get in a successful conversion.
In my case: Project Position=64, which means CDImage completed

In this way, you can manually select the phase you want to recover from.

Please note that if you start a recover process and, manually or not, it stops again, this parameter is modified, and you will be able to recover again but only from the previous phases.

Hope it helps
