View Full Version : IFOUpdate gives extra audio, subs

IFOUpdate doesn't seem to be updating my IFO's correctly. Here's what I'm doing:

1. Rip R2 anime dvd to hdd. VERY simple show/DVD, 1 PGC, 1 audio, no subs, simple menu.
2. Used Big 3 to demux all streams (1 video, 1 audio) and transcode audio to fit on one DVD-R.
3. Import video and audio elementary streams into DVDMaestro, add subtitles and chapters (from Xtractor), output project.
4. The output from DVDMaestro works great. Video + 1 audio + newly added subtitle track. Plays and tracks fine in PowerDVD. Burned to DVD-RW and plays fine in my Pioneer stand-alone.
5. Switch appropriate files around (everything but _1+ vobs)
6. Run IFOUpdate, pointing to proper IFOs.
7. Check options to Transfer VTS_C_ADT Table, Color table, Audio and Subpicture tables, and Autocorrect VTS sectors.
8. Uncheck AutoSet Region-free (this is done by DVD Decrypter already, correct?)
9. Hit Update IFO and let it run.
10. Menu works great (it was just a simple jump to chapter menu), just like original.
11. There are now 2 problems that I seem to have after doing this though: First, I now have all 8 audio streams and 32 subtitle streams, even though only the first of each contains anything. Second, if I try to jump anywhere in PowerDVD using the slider while the movie is playing, it seems to snap to a chapter point. I can't browse to any random point in the film. I haven't had the chance to try to burn it out yet to test in a stand-alone, but I would think it'd be the same as in PowerDVD.

Any ideas on these issues? I'd like to have a full backup with the menu. The funny thing is even though PowerDVD and (if I load the new IFO into) IFOUpdate sees all these audio and subp streams, if I load the IFO into IFOEdit, it seems to only say there is 1 of each. I've tried every combination of options I can think of to get this to work, but haven't been able to sort anything out or find anything similar while searching the forums. Thanks.

U missed the VTS_TMAPTI time map option in ifoupdate.

Well even after checking that option it still doesn't work, but it might be because my streams are 1 sec off. =/

I get these errors from IFOUpdate:

(transfers VTS_C_ADT table and audio/subp of VTSI_MAT)
- New VTS_VOBU_ADMAP is too large to fit. VTS_TMAPTI not transferred
- Processing VTS_PGC_0
- WARNING: Source to Destination mismatch
Original time = 01:48:24
Newly Authored time = 01:48:23
(copies audio and subp tables)

Anyway to fix this other then to find a way to add one sec to my video file? Any easy way to do that?

add a 1 sec black bmp to the end of your video in the authoring program and build again.

Well I finally found the answer. Thanks oddyseus for helping out, you steered me in the right direction. The answer was that my VTS_VOBU_ADMAPs weren't the same size. I found the answer in this thread: http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=56997&highlight=vtstmapti (btw, the IFOEdit answer discussed in this thread is easiest, you hopefully shouldn't need to hex edit).
Hope it helps anyone who has the same problems. I'm surprised this isn't addressed in any authoring guides or a sticky. Seems like it is a pretty common problem from the numerous threads I found once I figured out what it was. Cheers.
