View Full Version : How to get smoother transitions in Maestro?

I've created some nice looking picture-in-picture menus by using Photoshop and Premiere but I'm a little dissatisfied when I author them with Maestro. When Maestro loops the clip i'm using for a menu I get that 1 second obvious delay. It's a little annoying I think especially when you have designed the clip to supposedly loop seamlessly. Is there a way to get around this? I've seen on some professional dvd's, their menu's loops better and have a much more subtle delay.
Also, when the subpicture kicks-in on a looping menu, button 1 gets pre-selected even if I have "None" in the "Button Pre-Selection" Advance tab? Is it supposed to do that?
TIA

Is it already slower during preview? Or when burned to dvdr?
Because players tend to have a somewhat longer seek time on DVDR then on a regular presed DVD causing some slight delay.

Influenza: If your statement is true about the laser not being able to read a DVDR just like a pressed DVD then how come when you make back-ups using IFOUpdate, it reads it exactly the same?
Timmay: Don't use Maestro. Use Scenarist. If you reauthor the menu, you can have that seamless effect just like pressed DVDs. All you use are GPRMs and cell commands. And maybe some dummy/black video PGCs.
goodluck to ya
Perhaps I should write a quick guide on authoring a seamless menu.

That's why I asked is it already during preview. If so, maybe the menu is not setup correctly. If it's palyed back perfectly while preview, but not on a standalone it might be due to longer seeking times.
