I've never backed up any of my anime episodes before and have just started with King of Bandit Jing. The first problem I ran into was that each episode is linked to a different .ifo file. After reading up on that, I realized I could just rip each episode and convert each episode and make my own menu. This was fine for me as that way I could control which episode I wanted to watch. So, I encoded the first episode and had DVD2DVD rip subtitles.
My second problem was the .sub file needs to be converted to a .sst file for Scenarist/ReelDVD. I found that SubResync from vob sub could convert that, but the program will not open the .sub file created by DVD2DVD.
I then read a guide put out by Chickenman about ripping the subtitles with SubRip. So, I followed the instructions there and got my subs. However, when I pull the subs into ReelDVD it says that they are too long (running time is longer then the actual episode). SubRip shows that the subtitles are longer then the encoded file and the length of the episode shown in DVD2DVD. The next thing I noticed is that the subs are not in sync (even though ReelDVD says the .sst file is too long, it still imports the file). The subs run later then the talking. I checked the original DVD and this is not the case.
I'm going nuts and have tried various things all day by searching here and reading guides, but I must be doing something wrong here as I would think the subs should be fine since I'm using the same .ifo file to rip the subs and episode.
Any ideas?
