hey guys,
i'm re-encoding and re-authoring this disc which has 2 pgcs in the first titleset and uses the same vobid twice..
here are 2 screenies of the pgc's:

http://www.patsboem.com/onzin/pgc2.jpg
as you can see vobid_11 is in both but there is also a new vobid (17) in the second pgc..
that vobid_17 is whats confusing me..
how do i author this disc?
or shouldn't i author pgc_2 and just use adjust cell mode in ifoupdate?

i think you can simply do this with the 'Big 3'.
to be absolutely sure i'd have to take a look at the complete ifo file though...
oh and pls use a descriptive title for your post. e.g 'how do I reauthor a DVD with 2 PGCs which use the same vobid' :)

You cannot do adjusted cell mode. Vobid17 is not used in PGC1.

I'm afraid you'll have to rauthor it by vobid.
You can try to do it with the big three, but I don't know if it will work:
Do a normal pgc demux and uncheck pgc2. Encode and use ra as usual.
Also do a demux by vobid (or better demux the missing vobid17 with dvddecryptor).
After importing your RA script in scenarist you'll have pgc1 wich is ready and pgc2 wich contains a dummy.
Use the corresponding cell/chapter (that's vobid11 in the original) from the track that's created for pgc1. Drag this to pgc2. Also imort the demuxed vobid17 and create a track for that. Also drag this to pgc2.
Don't know if it will work, but I guess it will

don't forget to include vob17 in your folder before running RA so that it gets included in the bitrate calculations.

VOBID17 is just 15 frames long, so I guess the bitrate calculation will not be off very much if you do not include it ;)
But it's a good tip if the vobid would have been longer :sly:
