Look for Snowbeach's guide in the newbie settings thread. Follow the XviD settings section of that. Also, why do you want to use ffvfw to encode XviD instead of say, Koepi's latest 'unstable' binary? (from here (http://koepi.roeder.goe.net))

My personal testing showed ffvfw to render the highest PSNR for "DivX 3" (i.e. MPEG-4 Simple) encoding... with XviD dev-api-4 in a close second.

DivX 3???? Hmmm, interesting. Resolution? Bitrate? Content? Filtering? :)

Snowbeach's guide is with gordian knot+codec xvid
The parameters of the codec are not the same in ffvfw>Mpeg4>fcc:XviD than simply xvid.
I want to know that cause i want to make a 3 pass with ffvfw, and in xvid u can t do that.
I use:
ffvfw-20030325
ffdshow-20030523
Koepi codec of 24 june 2003
I want the best quality, time is not a problem...
Someone can tell me how i can configure ffvfw to make a 3 pass movie?
Thx :D

OK, well, this is what I have been told to use:
Max I-Frame interval: 10*frame rate
Min I-Frame interval: 1
DO NOT use B-Frames. They are not currently working. If you do use them with a two pass encode it will die on the second pass.
High quality: check the box
4MV: check the box
Motion estimation method: EPZS
ME, Subpixel ME, Macroblock and ME Prepass compare functions: SATD
EPZS and Prepass diamond sizes: size 2 diamond
Check all chroma boxes.
Check the Qpel box and set the subpel refinement quality to 8
On the quantization section check trellis searched quantisation.
Other than that the defaults are fine. I am not certain how to do a 3-Pass encode.
