need help on a DVD-command

I hope one of the DVD-experts here can help me on this one:

Set GPRMMD<GPreg<2>> = 2048, [COUNTER](mf=0) [53 00 08 00 00 02 00 00 ]

It should set the GPRM in counter mode, I tried it but IfoEdit´s
DVD-player shows the same value all the time.

My questions are why does it not work and what is this "mf"
and can it be changed, an if yes, then how.

That looks like the output from TMpeg DVD Author, I was wondering what all that was too ....

Change byte 5 from 0x02 to 0x82 to make GPRM 2 a counter. mf is the mode flag, 0 is a normal register, 1 is a counter.
