I encoded from a 7gb AVI file (with Huffyuv codec). CCE and TMPGENC can both read the avi easily, but the outputted mpg file doesnt play but crashes windows media player (other mpgs encoded with the programs play, and a small segment encoded from that same AVI file also plays). However, the mpg does play back in the small preview window in Windows Explorer! whaddaya know...

Could it be related to the original 7gb AVI's file size? But the resulting mpg is only 400mb... :P

any help greatly appreciated!! thanks!

PS: This is the error I get in Scenarist when I want to import the mpg file:
Error E:\Film\MusicBox\AdjustmentPAL.mp2
Error : Frame rate (3 = reserved) is wrong.

The AVI seems to be okay... Could it be related to the Huffyuv codec? When I want to play the MPG file in Media Player it first tries to download a codec before it crashes... :P :P

P.S. PowerDVD seems to play the MPGs too, I just noticed, but Scenarist wont import them...!?

What is the resolution of the AVI? What is the frame rate?

The resolution is regular PAL 720x576 and framerate is 25fps... thats why i dont understand why Scenarist gives me the error 'framerate (3=reserved)'... :P

scenarist says you are trying to import a 'mp2' file, this extension is most commonly used as audio, but also refers to a mpeg-2 program stream. make sure you are only giving scenarist elementary streams (m2v or mpv)
