Hello all...

I am a newbie and have rigourously searched these forums for a solution to my problem, and while I think I've come close to finding it, still no luck (unless of course I DID in fact come across the solution without knowing it!). I think 2COOL has given me an idea, but here goes:

I have Music Video Vobs that I want to burn on a DVD and play in my standalone. So I use Vobedit to join the vobs together and then use IFOedit to create the ifos for the joined vob. It is 1 title and the # of chapters equals the number of videos. When I played my first test DVD in my standalone, the playback from the end of Video 1 to Video 2 was smooth, no stopping/hanging. But from there on, after every video my dvd player stops/hangs (forever) :( I have to push prev/next to move on (or back) to the next video. In other words, if I just wanted all the vids to play back-to-back, it wouldn't work unless I intervened by pushing next. The fact that it goes smoothly from video 1 to video 2, tells me that something in the ifos might be telling it to do that? I saw a similar post of someone with 3 episodes of a show, and the standalone would hang after 2/before 3...and he had a workaround by introduing a fake chapter or something. But I am very confused as to what I should do here. I can come back with some data from my ifos and maybe show it to you guys to have a look. I am not sure about the cell structure that was created for my resulting joined vob. But if anyone can get me started I would really appreciate it! It is almost useless to have a DVD, especially with quick 5 minute videos, to keep stopping after each one! By the way, there is no menu or anything on my DVD, and i used the guides here to create it, thus join vobs, create ifos, get vts sectors, etc. It looks great on the standalone, but this problem makes everything seem worthless.

Please help! 2COOL, i think you can help me, and anyone else!

Thank you,

buckshot.

Whats the original ?
1. Does it all vome from 1 DVD
2. is it mixed from different DVDs ?

If 1. then load the original DVD structure in to DVD Shrink like this (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=57961#post348712)
DVD Shrink creates the command structure automatically.

Hi maa,

the vobs are all mixed from different DVD's, and i downloaded them each independently, just the vobs. I made sure that the audio sources are all the same. But the fact they are mixed could pose a problem?

I would be interested in an answer to this question as well.....

I have tried this with several movie trailers and the resulting dvd reacted the same way. I also noticed that it skipped a few trailers in between the ones that played.

I know this doesn't answer your question.....just wanted to let you know that your not the only one confused about this problem :)

Vobeit join is not the right tool for this operation.
The VOBs need seperate IFOs

1. Put the VOBs in seperate folders
2. Drag a VOB onto your IfoEdit ICON - that makes a DVD set of IFOs
3. Do the same for the others.
4. Start DVDShrink beta5 and follow this Guide (http://www.dvdshrink.info/re-author-v3beta5-advanced.php) for re-authoring more than one film together.
DVDShrink provides the commands for contined play.

This is what I would do. As a example, I'm going to use MUSIC.VOB as one of your video VOBs and I'm going to use a 15ms blank clip called BLANK.VOB.

Rename them as follows

MUSIC.VOB > VTS_01_001.VOB
BLANK.VOB > VTS_01_002.VOB

Open VTS_01_001.VOB in VOBedit 0.60 and select "Join Clips". For your First VOB-ID, just leave it at "1" and press OK. I'll now have a VTS_01_1.VOB.

Create new IFOs for this VTS_01_1.VOB with 1 PGC and a chapter for each cell. That's it. Repeat the same procedure with the others and if you want to keep them in the same folder, I suggest you rename the VTS_## in incrementing order so your next video would be called VTs_02_001.VOB

If you want menus, you could use TMPGenc DVD Author. If you don't need menus, use DVD Shrink in re-author mode.

Now, you're wondering why we had to join a blank VOB at the end. This is because if you didn't and then authored your DVD, you couldn't chapter skip forward since your music VOBs will be in separate Titlesets. You can fast forward but that's annoying. This blank VOB will help you on successfully skipping to the next video.

If you can already navigate then just use shrink.
