Correct pixel aspect & resoltuion for PC video

I've been doing a lot of reading on pixel aspect ratios, frame sizes and display aspect ratio but I still have a couple of questions.

I have some progressive PAL DV material which I understand is 720x576 with non square 1.0925 PAR (pixel aspect ratio).

(1) What is the correct frame size for SQUARE pixel stills takes from the DV footage? These stills will just be used to display on webpages and will not be inserted back in a video. 720x576, 787x576, 704x576, or 768x576 ? They all look ok to me, some wider than others but I'm not which which is 'standard' or realistic.

(2) In regards to encoding the DV footage exclusively for viewing on a computer, what should the procedure and correct frame size be with square pixels. This question pretty much is related to the one above.

I would assume 768x576 is the correct answer as it's true 4:3 and square pixels.

bb did some test about this in the sticky section (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=44977). Maybe it might help you, unless you have already read that topic before posting your thread.
Actually, it's for the PAL stuff, and as soon as i get back home, i'll do the aspect ratio test for NTSC. :p

thanks I think I figured it out.
It's crop to 702x576 and then the square pixel equivalent is 768x576 which is what can be resized to 4:3 standard PC video sizes.

I wonder why my AVISynth doesn't like those commands. Maybe I need 2.5.
