First off, I hope this post is in the right place and does't violate any rules. Having said that,
99.9% of my captures are of film content so I generaly preform an IVTC
or use #telecide(order=0) to recover progressive frames without decimating.I have no problems at all with this as everything works and my captures come out xcellent.
To the question; my capture format is either huffyuv or picvideo @480x480, now for the rare times I capture a sporting event or a live TV event or whatever that is PURE NTSC video (interlaced), if my final destination is for DVD to playback on TV only. do I need to deinterlace that when I encode to mpeg2 ?? I've read everything possible about this but I'm still confused. If any of the guru's out can put it in relativly simple english. No matter which method I use eventualy to deinterlace,(kernal, smart, separatefields, etc)Do I need to ??
thanks in advance
