i made a backup with shrink3 b5 .. i removed title 2 and re-authored title 1 with english audio and dutch subs ( maybe i should add that title 2 is only black screen and only a few Mb's ) halfway through the backup the dvd freezes and i have to skip to the next chapter ( schneider hcs 500 home cinema set )
how can this be ? did i run into a layer break ? and more importantly what can i do about it ? is the title 2 a file that lotr needs ?
oh i wanted to add that shrink is the best darn freeware i ever came across ( for backup's that is :) )

Its helpful if you post what it was you found, in case someone else has the same problem and wants to know.

thats really funny .. see how u handle noobs here , it was the layer break which i edited ( for better use of words ) it was in chapter 39 , which said layer break (2) and i made it 10 , backup is fine now.
i followed these instructions and that did the trick.
1. Open the movie's IFO, usually VTS_01_0.IFO, with IFOEdit
2. Note the cell number where the layer break occurs.
3. Note the PGC number, usually PGC_1
4. Expand VTS_PGCITI and select the PGC noted at (3)
5. Scroll down until you find the cell number noted at (2)
6. The very first entry for that cell - cell type - will have some value other than 8.
7. Double click this line and change the value by adding 8 to whatever's there now. Thus, if it's 2 make it 10, if it's 0 make it 8.
8. Save the file.
9. You may want to do a Get VTS sectors, too. It isn't strictly necessary, but it does confirm the general integrity of the files. For instance, this last action showed up problems in version 2.2 of Shrink (no longer present in 2.3)
