hi i have a video_ts.vob thats 800mb and wasting alot of space on the disconly about 1mb of it is any use and the other 799mb is just pure garbage. Just wondering if anyone knows how to get rid of the 799mb i dont need. I have tried using vobrator to save all the other vob ids other than the BIG one and it mounts to 1mb but when i replace it with the big video_ts.vob and play it in anythink like windvd/powerdvd it just crashes like its looking for the rest of the vob. Also i have tried looking at ifoedit to disable that vob id but in ifoedit it only goes upto vob is 15 when the crap is on vob id 16 in vobrator. OH and lastly i have tried just removing it and setting the first play in ifoedit to the main menu without any luck but i was'nt exactly sure on how to do that so might of got that wrong. Any suggestions would be greatful :)

Its not exactly what you want but take a look at this for some ideas:Blank Out a Multi-PGC TitleSet (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=60788&highlight=blank+vob+replace) by 2COOL

Does it have to be a vob? You can extract the part you want and save it as a mpg.

I have figured it out now it was'nt actually the video_ts.vob causing the problem it was a different vobset :(:(

well... anyhow, if you get that kind of problem of a HUGE Video_ts.vob, and want to get rid of all the garbage.... I think you can do this:

Take the archive to a different folder and from there rename it to vts_01_1.vob and open IfoEdit
Choose Create IFO

After that's done, open DVDShrink and Choose Open Files and choose that one; go to Reauthor and choose that vob.... use the Start <-> End button to edit OR Shrink the whole thing to Still Pictures or All the way to the higest compression, after you are done, just backup somewhere in the HDD and when finished, rename it back to its original name and move it to its original position....

Hope that works

In a case like this where there is a massive VIDEO_TS.VOB you can strip out the unwanted/unreferenced content easily enough using the menu extras in IFOEdit.. this has the added advantage of allowing you to retain function if done carefully...

You can track the content you need using DVD Play inside IFOEdit but a far easier option is to scan the vob visually using DVD2AVI... note the VOB ID's of the required content....do this carefully as DVD2AVI sometimes skips a VOB ID if you move the slider too quickly...

having decided what you do need to keep you can then strip out the unrequired content.. along with references to it in the IFO, using menu extras and strippong by VOB ID....
