Hi,
I've recently upgraded to a Pioneer a06 drive and got a sample pack from supermedia to try out some 4x media, here's my kprobe results, bottom line, I'll stick with my ritek :)

These are all burned @ 4x on a a06, and then check with kprobe on a lite-on 48161H. If people are interested I can post the actual graphs later (any free hosting site?).

If I'm reading that correctly the worst of the bunch were the LEAD DATA disks???????

Damn! I don't know what to believe anymore...on vcdhelp.com's database the comments about those disks are all positive.
except mine which is about to be posted.

One very unfortunate lesson I've learned after over 500 1x disks of different brands is you can't rely on consistency. You may have great results with a spindle of brand x which makes you think you're all set for the future if you keep buying brand x. Only to find out your next order a few months later has skips and freezes on half the disks.

Hopefully quality will improve as disk makers get more experience. Or maybe Riteks will drop in price enough to make it a non-issue. Although I've had a bad spindle of Riteks so they're not immune from problems either.

I would never buy more than 100 disks in a single order.
