I mean, what codecs are used for the AVI file? Where did you get the AVI file? AVI files come in MANY, MANY flavors. Like, divx, huffy, uncompressed and MANY more.

Whatever codec was used to generate the avi file will have to be on your system for decoding purposes of tmpgenc.

I think this program will tell you what video and audio codec it is compressed in. then simply search for them through google, download them, install them and try tempgenc again.

I think you are referring to redmanuk stating that he downloaded something from KaZaa. Is this it? I put alot of my favorite tv shows onto vcd or dvd-r. I capture 90% of what I burn. But when I get close to completing a season or even a series, I search KaZaa for the ones I am missing. Sometimes waiting 5 months for it to air again is just not tolerable. Sometimes what I download is an AVI or divx or something and need to convert it. My point is that redmanuk never mentioned what the actual content is, so do we know if he violated any copyright law? In fact AM I, by downloading regular tv shows? I am not trying to be a jerk here, I am really curious about this? If any Mods feal that I/WE are breaking rule 6. I am sorry...

I don't think Doom9 or Paramount would appreciate this line of info?
