View Full Version : ifoedit - keep ONLY the angle

Apologies if this sounds too simplistic. I understand there're a lot of non-English native speakers.
When I click "remove angle" , then choose "keep angle 1" I get the entire movie that's common to angle 1 and angle 2 with angle 2 removed.
When I click remove angle then choose keep angle 2 I get everything that's common to angle 1 and 2 with angle 1 removed.
Is there any way to JUST GET ONE ANGLE, and remove the rest of the movie completely?
so you only see all the extra scenes for angle 2, WITHOUT the rest of the movie.
So for example I would generate 1 set of vobs with the complete movie including angle 1, then for angle 2 I would have a much smaller vob with only angle 2 on it.

I think I got it. After trying to figure it out for a few days the idea hit a minute after I posted the question.
On the screen that gives you the vobids to keep I just went throught and clicked all the boxes. the checked become clear, tne clear become checked.
It's running now, I think that'll be the solution.
(unless there's a button somewhere that I missed that says 'keep only the angle and nothing else')

By default, the ones that IFOedit had unchecked for you are your VobIds for the Angle you don't want. By doing this, you are back to square one with Angle 1 and Angle 2 in your movie. You really shouldn't mess with it. In this window, all you needed to do was press your "Strip it" button. ;)

I did NOT CHECK all the boxes, I CLICKED ALL the boxes, so all the boxes that were empty are now checked, and all the boxes that were checked are now empty.

Let me try to explain a little differently -
In the movies I've been ripping, most of the movie is common, is the same for angle 1 and angle 2. Only a few scenes have a second angle.
suppose I want 1 full movie, complete with angle 1, call this movie1
and a second vob file with only angle 2 and none of the common scenes. call this movie 2
Nothing in movie 2 should be a repeat of the things in movie 1. (so movie 2 is much smaller than movie 1, since it has a lot fewer scenes.)
What ifoedit was doing was if I selected 'keep angle 1', it gave me a full movie with angle 1 scenes. Or, put another way it gave me common scenes plus angle 1 scenes.
When I selected 'keep angle 2' it gave me a full movie with angle 2 scenes. Put another way, this gave me common scenes plus angle 2 scenes.
See what I mean? For angle 2 I don't want the full movie. I want to erase all the parts that I already got when I kept angle 1. Most of the scenes were the same.
I hope that's more clear. I'm trying to avoid getting 90% duplicate material between the 2 rips.
So what I'm doing is, for the 1st rip, keep angle 1 and leave all the boxes as-is.
Next, again keep angle one but reverse all the boxes, so everything that was stripped before will not be stripped now, and everything that was not stripped before will get stripped now.
