wrong frame order

I have downloaded a series but the frameorder is wrong

I tried to change the order with swapfields and other commands but I couldn't solve the problem, because hole frames are in the wrong place and I don't know how to change the order.

But another thing is when I load the avi into vdub the order is correct, in any other media player it's wrong.

Is there anyway to correct the order?

The clip is progressive with every frame repeated three times. Since it is progressive, field order is irrelevant. It plays just fine in all players that I tried. How are you making a symptom appear and what is the symptom?

There are field dominance reversal filters for both Avisynth and VirtualDub, but as I said, the clip is progressive.

the order is frame1,frame3,frame2 and so on

mhh this is wired I tried the clip on 2 pcs (Windows Media Player, BSPlayer,Zoom Player) and the order is wrong, only in Virtual Dub the order is correct.

Maybe a newer xvid codec is out.

Precision is important.

1) Define "latest version". Latest stable version is 0.9.x, which doesn't support B-frames (and thus, orders frame incorrectly).
2) VfW latest version does not mean you have some other (directshow, since you said vdub plays it fine) decoder installed that can't handle B-Frames. Make sure you have Nic's Directshow filter or a recent ffdshow (any version will do, stable or alpha, ffdshow has had b-frame support for a long time).

the first non black frame is frame 51
I looked now a bit closer an found that order
starting at frame 50
frame a = blackframe
(in my media players)
bbaccbddc
(in virtual dub)
aaabbbccc

sorry since I can't use virtual dub (because there the order isn't wrong) it is not easy to give detailed information of my problem

I will try to reencode the series maybe that will solve this

Your clip has B frames so I would listen very carefully. :)

I Installed ffdshow und the series just played fine.
It has many options to play with, but I think I will look through it :D
