I'm having trouble chosing the correct audio stream. when I go to re-author i sometimes get more than one audio stream. for example:

AC3 6-ch English
DTS English
AC3 2-ch English
AC3 2-ch English

if i want the AC3 2-ch English, how do i know which is the audio stream for the movie and which is for director's comments. whenever i chose one of them i always seem to get the director's comments. is there anyway of telling or are they both director's comments and the only audio for the movie is the AC3 6-channel?

hi,

if you have the dvd, just look at the case if it has two audio-commentaries. if not, just look your dvd up in an online-database. but anyways, just take the 6ch-audio, every player can downmix it to two channels.

crazyasian, until audio preview is implemented in DVD Shrink (if it is ever ), the workaround is to backup a very small portion of the main title (a few minutes) using the "start/end" feature, only selecting one of the audio streams you're unsure about.
It shouldn't take more than a minute.
You can then preview it in your software player (WinDVD, PowerDVD, ...) and see if it's the one you'd like to keep. ;)

play the movie back in PowerDVD selecting you chosen language (not really necessary as you can normally swap during playback if you have ripped it previous as you can swap audio during playback), right click the window while it's playing then choose SHOW INFORMATION but also hightlight the AUDIO LANGUAGES selection. You will see the track listing in the order you have above and it will also have a tick against the one that is playing. If it won't allow direct audio swapping during playback then right click again, choose Select Menu then goto Audio Menu to change tracks

the order they are shown in PowerDVD is the order they are shown in DVDShrink ;)

subtitles are the same
