Ok i am a PAL user and have been using Chatwalkers DVD2DVD-R with good results but i ahev noticed a new kid on the block going by the name of DVD2DVD.
Being a PAL user dvd2dvd-r is a breaze to use and am really seraching for a better solution but i am curious why people seem to be using this program over DVD2DVD-R.
Is it becuase it works better with NTSC dvd's ?
Which Produces better qulaity on PAL or NTSC DVD's
Is it movie only or can it keep multiple program tites?
Is it Faster than DVD2DVD-R
The layout seems a bit well put it simply pants with too many tabs if there is no benifit from using it then ill keep using DVD2DVD-R.
thanks in advance

Uhm the only reason I decided to try DVD2DVD instead of the other one is its in english. When I heard dvd2dvd-r was in german or some other language I didn't even consider using it!!

DVD2DVD-R has problems for NTSC users when remuxing, especially with subtitles. DVD2DVD addresses and corrects these problems. If you are a PAL user, then this will not be important to you. The ability to correctly remux with Scenarist is very important to us in NTSC land, as IfoEdit does not work correctly. :)
DVD2DVD also seems to be much more reliable (for me), as CCE would only open correctly for me about 50% of the time using DVD2DVD-R, which seems to me to be a problem with event timings (but then again, I am not a programmer). CCE has never failed to open in DVD2DVD. Also, DVD2DVD has crash recovery, so if for some reason the process bails on you, you can go back and continue where you left off.
DVD2DVD has more more user selectable options, including the ability to edit the beginning and end of movie points, view the subtitles before selecting, etc.
DVD2DVD-R still has the NTSC "chapter size" bug, a problem which was cured in the second beta of DVD2DVD.
As far as I can tell, both processes are about the same time in length, or at least on a 2.4 ghz P-IV.
Both programs are "movie only", so there are no advantages of one program over the other in this respect.
The extra tabs in DVD2DVD may seem daunting at first, but you need only set them up once, and then you can just load a new DVD or DVD files in and leave the settings alone.
When I heard dvd2dvd-r was in german or some other language I didn't even consider using it!!
DVD2DVD-R is in English. :)

and dvd2dvd is Sooooo simple to use. just put in a dvd select destination under misc tab, then go. Couldn't get much easier. It might look like alot of tabs, but they are for tweakers. The benifit of using cce with t means the best poxxible quality too.
my opinion is dvd2dvd produces higher quality, is tweakable if you get brave, but is slower.

NTSC only for me in the US.
However I do not think it makes a difference which one you use, the directions are the same. Only difference is that PAL will encode faster and not require pulldown (I think that is all).

DVD2DVD-R is very buggy in NTSC there a patch to get CCE to work with DVD2DVD-R it's on there website look in the english forum. DVD2DVD let's you use other encoder's other then CCE if you want do not no why but you can. I wish DVD2DVD would get you pick subtitle's like DVD2ONE and audio track's but that's about it very small thing to want. DVD2DVD can only pick two audio track's would be nice if you could add more if you wanted to.
