I created an original scenario in NTSC, and I would like to make a PAL version out of it... do I have to reauthor everything in a PAL scenario or can I somehow use the created structure of the NTSC version for a PAL version (replacing NTSC with PAL assets?

Anyone knows? All I am trying to do is to take the structure of the NTSC scenario and use it for the PAL version of the dvd, so I dont have to recreate the whole structure...

According to the specs u mustn't do this. But if u try it, there must be some standalones, the ones that play everything, that r capable of such a task. I really don't know any brand/model, but I do know that Apex r capable of playing mpeg files burnt on a cd.

I think what LordClick is asking is not "Can you mix PAL & NTSC assets", but "Can you take all the NTSC assets out of a scenario and replace them with PAL assets without touching the programming".

I think if you convert everything to a placeholder, then change the project setting, it should work, but I've never gone through the process myself.

Hope that helps, and let me know how you get on.

If dvdboy interprets the original post correctly, .yes u can use the dvd structure created for NTSC and replace the assets with Pal and finaly rebuild the titleset with the new assets

I think this is a job for DVDMaestro and not Scenarist for a single reason (at least for me)...
You can transcode ALL your assets to PAL and place them in a different folder form the one with NTSC...So let's say your NTSC assets are in folder "C:\NTSC" and your PAL in "C:\PAL".
Now, since the project exists, just duplicate the "project.dvd" and rename or move the NTSC folder. You do that, because when you'll open the duplicate project in Maestro, it won't locate the assets and will ask you where "x" asset is located. You point to the PAL folder and voila! The project is now loaded again but converted to PAL since the assets are PAL.

In Scenarist, i think that this can't be done, because it "locks" the assets with attributes when they were intially imported, so you have to manually change the NTSC flags to PAL and maybe it will require of rebuilding some tracks. Yet I'm not 100% sure about this.
Maybe it's easier...

I just described the abovementioned procedure for future projects, since you now already have your project in Scenarist

yup i've done this and it works fine, very useful with larger projects that have a more complex stucture. Just delete everything from the track and data editor, then change the default settings to PAL/NTSC and re-import everything.
