What happens if you press ignore and burn anyway ?
Does it work ?

I've used Iso only and ISO/UDF and the on players I tested all works fine. I do have a player that wont play DVDr burned in pure UDF.

If you burn as a proper dvd video disc, the bup file will be placed after the vob files (ifo, vobs, bup). This is how video discs are supposed to be burnt.
If you dont, it will burn the bup, then the ifo, then the vobs - i.e. in alphabetical order.

Whilst this doesnt seem like a big deal, remember the bup file is the backup of the ifo. If you get a scratch that takes out the ifo and makes it unreadable, having the bup a long distance away gives you every chance of recovering the contents. If the two files are placed next to each other on the disc, a scratch will probably take them both out and you wont be able to read either of them.

I think its a bad idea to ignore that file allocation error. Whenever I do that, I end up with disks that don't play right in my Sony.

Have you tried using "GET VTS SECTORS" on the folder using ifoedit? That tends to fix those kind of problems for me.

I agree with atreides93. The reason for using the DVD-VIDEO option in Nero is for it to ensure the burned DVD complies with the standard. If it is saying you have some kind of problem, that should be a RED flag.

If you specify other types of DVD like DVD-data and it burns, it is because Nero is not checking anymore. I would be concerned that the discs you are creating will not play in more STB players.
