How is a file copied to cd ?

I Have a 720 meg file ,avi movie.

Its 100 mins long.

will it fit onto a 800 meg file that has 90 mins capacity ?

Is the file, size determined or minute determined to fit ?

If not, how to i span the file, splitting it into 2 halves to fit onto 2 cd`s ?

90 mins only refer to CD's burned as Audio CD.
720MB files will fit on a 800MB disc.
