View Full Version : Mpeg doesn't play all the way through, jumps back to beg. @ a certain point...

I have a 635MB mpeg that I burned to cd-rw a week or two ago (without checking its functionality ahead of time, unfortunately).

Now, playing it back in BS Player (and then WMP, Zoom Player, etc.) I see that the video will paly until about the 31 minute mark, abruptly stop & then jump back to the start of the video. If the video is paused, you can scan past that point into later parts of the video successfully, and even play parts of the video as long as it's beyond that point. So the data is still there, but it isn't allowed or recognized once you play beyond that point, and media editors, such as TMPGEnc or OSS Media Converter Pro won't recognize that data when trying to Merge & Cut with it (Tmpg's Mpeg Tools) or convert the whole thing to AVI using OSS.

1)If this sounds familiar to anyone, please advise.

2)If there is a diagnostic or repair tool for mpegs akin to Gspot and DivFix, please let me know about it.

Many thanks.;)
