XviD Encoding *very* slow

I always keep the 1 and 2 pass the same. VHQ4.

I think you must use the same settings for both passes.

If you have set your memory speed async with your FBS speed, you'll actually hurt performance more than you gain.

It's advisable to use same speed for both FBS and memory speed.

I have the option to set RAM 1:1 with FSB in the BIOS, and now I'm running my Athlon XP 2000+ with both FSB and memory speed at 2x 145MHz (290 MHz data rate) and the CPU it's working at 1812 MHz instead of the default of 1667 Mhz; I have to say that XviD encoding speed has improved a lot by this OC and I don't have performance problems nor the machine is unstable.
