My system:
MICROSOFT WINDOWS 2003 SERVER ENTEPRISE
FULL WORKSTATION CONVERSION DONE - GIVING ALL MEDIA CAPABILITIES OF XP
Athlon xp 2200
Msi KT3 ULTRA2 - VIA KT333 CHIPSET BASED
VIA AC'97 ENHANCED AUDIO (WAVE
768MB OF MEMORY - number shown on system analyzer

I encoded with:
aacmachine 0.51
besplit v0.82
besweet v1.4
Pystel AAc Encoder V215

I also installed
3ivx d4 4.0.4 - someone said this would help
CCreAcc 1.1.0.166 - coreacc.ax /never seen .ax before, dont know what it is - noob

Let me know if you need anything else.

I download everything I thought may help resolve why nothing on my computer recognizes my aac as a file it understands. Not even Nero's new player. Whats up with that? Does it need to be in a container? Just so you know I'm just know undertanding what filters are on a technical sense. Plus I've just started learnig about decoders on a little bit more than complete newb level.

please direct me to a newb area thats explains all about acc, and how not to be pissed off by it, when trying to make and use it for the first time.

I dont know why aacmachine used besplit. It seperated my ac3 into 25 seperate files. Don't know if thats bad or not. It got put back together on its own when it was done.

1. As far as guides go, make sure to check out http://www.doom9.org/index.html?/AacMachine.htm and http://www.doom9.org/index.html?/mp4.htm

2. You'll need to mux your AAC into a container to play it back, options would be MP4 or Matroska. the MP4 muxing is described in the second of the above guides, as far as matroska goes you'll need mkvmerge (http://www.bunkus.org/videotools/mkvtoolnix/), and make sure to read the documentation.

3. As far as installing coreaac.ax, you'll want to copy it somewhere like your windows\system32 directory and register it via commandline: "regsvr32 coreaac.ax"
