Make DVD-Image creation selectable in Scenarist

Hi,
I recently started using DVD to DVD conversion with DVD2SVCD.
With the latest bugfix (1.2.1 B2a) it works very well for me.
The only request I have is to allow on the 'CD Image' Tab a checkbox to tell Scenarist NOT to create a DVD-Image.
I usually burn my DVD with a program (eg. Nero) which allows the input of a DVD structure from a VIDEO_TS folder which is always created by Scenarist.
I also can play this directory with WinDVD to check that everything is ok.

The creation of an additional Image is a waiste of diskspace and time.
In Scenarist it is possible to select the dvd-structure and leave the dvd-image unchecked but with DVD2SVCD the image is always created. Having such a selection in DVD2SVCD would be very helpful.

Yes this would be nice. I suggested it via email a week ago or so. Myself, I'd should just to do discimage.dvd rather then DVD Video files.

Only thing was if it's possible (from programming standpoint) to force user to select at least one option or both options.

Having said that ..though..not sure if it's on the high priority list though.

This makes a lot of sense if easily do-able as that image, on top of the vobs, sure eats up the HD space in a hurry. Is there a way now to specify another dir for the image? That would help some.

Yeah.

This is very complicated in my case, because i only have 20 GB free to use.

What happens is that:

Dvd ripped = 6 GB
Video_CCE = 4.33Gb
Audio = 400 MB
Subs = 25 MB
+
Final DVD vobs = 4.36 GB

About 15 GB, it would be fine, no problem.

But what happens is that Scenarist generates plus 2 files

movie0.scn-Encoded_Video_CCE_PAL-t_t.vob = 4.36 GB
+
DiscImage.dvd = 4.36 GB

So in the end, we have 15 + 4,36 + 4,36 = 23,7 GB

This is terrible because, every time I let dv2dvd overnight it will not end the work, because scenarist has no more space to finish the vobs. The only way is to be here by the computer and delete the ripped vobs after cce have finished. :(

I really don't need the image. But i don't care about what file could be elected to be deleted. I just wanted some option to delete one of the 4 files: ripped vobs; dvdimage; final vobs or the movie0.scn-Encoded temporary file.

I could avoid this avoiding image creation and doing the authoring with IFOedit, but this is time consuming because of the subtitles :(

It would be great if instead of scenarist dvd2svcd would use ifoedit :). But that is another war, mostly because of the subs implementation.

Hopefully won't be too much longer now.
The next version of DVD2SVCD will be bundled with freeware tools to multiplex, submux, author and (optionally) create the image file.

It is currently undergoing beta testing and a few issues have cropped up but it's getting there.
