Hi, I've read a lot about the programs to use to capture video but im not able to capture .avi files with larger than 320x240 resolution using the company's winfast pvr software program as well as vdub. I havent been able to get virtual vcr working either, cause there is no picture at all in the preview screen. When i try to set up the tuner card for that program i try to configure it under settings---devices---tv tuner but it gives the status "locked". I tried installing the generic driver from http://btwincap.sourceforge.net/ but that ended up crashing my system and getting me in a little bit of trouble...My only luck capturing the video is to mpeg files, which then i have to convert to avi files afterwards and most of the time this gives me async audio
If anyone can help me with this i'd be really grateful. Thanks

What operating system are you using?
I'm not at my computer right now, so I can only help from memory.
For Virtual VCR you need to tick some "tree" option
Did you install the Huffyuv or Mjpeg codecs?

I have windows xp installed on my computer as well as the huffyuv codec. I couldn't find a mjpeg codec that i could download for free. I'll look for that tree option and see if i can get anywhere with that.

In Virtual VCR:
Settings->View->Use Smart Tee Filter for Preview
Tick the option at the top of the View tab.
YOu may also need to set up the channels by tuning.

Did you update the drivers for the Winfast PVR software?
If not, try update the drivers for it first. There is also an updated version of the Winfast PVR software.
You should get a screen that looks similar to the image below:

yeah i've updated all the drivers and installed the latest version of winfast pvr...the weird thing is that i thought i remember a couple weeks back being able to capture an "uncompressed avi" with a good resolution, better than the 320x240 max i can only do now. But I did get Virtual VCR to work (only the older release tho, 2.6.7.5168). I'll try and see how that goes and I'm sure i'll be able to use that now. Thanks

Try searching for "Morgan MJPEG" in google. I'm pretty sure it is shareware.
