What do I need to do to make Producer on Linux accepts MPEG-1 video input? I don't want to convert to uncompressed AVI first. Since Redhat does not include MP3 support in its distro, I assume this is due to patent/legal issue. But can't I get the MPEG codec for Linux anywhere?

Producer 9.2M6, RedHat 7.3.

I am afraid Producer on Linux does not currently include support for reading compressed files. To come up with some kind of wrapper for existing codecs on the system, is an open feature request, which we are hoping someone in the community would be interested in implementing. A related bug/feature request: https://helix-dna.helixcommunity.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=280 , is that it also does not support larger than 2 GB files (on Linux / OS X).
