HELP: MPEG-1/2 Driver & Burning SVCD Problem

Hi all! I really need your help!

I have two related (I think) problems. Firstly, when I burn two SD-6 SVCD encodes which are (together) 805MB in size on my hard drive and 40 minutes in video length, the video works well until the last 2-3 minutes. Then it just breaks up, freezes my DVD player and crashes. A similar thing happens when I burn a VCD of large size (40 minutes of video).

The second problem is when I burn an image (.cue) file of a JTP SVCD encode (the Oz series) which should be 40 minutes in length of video, it tells me that an 80minute CD-R is not big enough to hold the image. When I burn the image to a virtual drive on my HD, the AVQ***.DAT file (the video) is 800megs and visible using Windows Media Player.

I should note that these problems are FIXED when I re-encode the videos using TMPGEnc. Judging by this, it seems to be a driver problem with my MPEG-1/2 drivers, but I can't figure out how to fix them.

Just a note that this is NOT a problem with my drive - I just bought a new CD-RW drive and the problem persists.

I've tried upgrading from Nero 5.5 to Nero 6.0.1. It also doesn't fix the problem.

Still got the Bin-Cues? Did you check them out before burning with Daemon Tools (http://www.daemon-tools.cc/portal/portal.php) as you should have? If not, install it and do it. Go to the place where the corruption occurs and look for it. I'll bet you don't see any, and the encoding turned out well, and the problem is with the burn.

A little reading might have pointed you toward a solution. When I burned at max speed with Nero using my 48X Lite-On, I used to get the same thing sometimes. I tried a slower speed and all was well. 40X seems to be fine, but I burn all mine at 32X now, with no problems. And Question 45 of the DVD2SVCD Q&A (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=21859) has more information on that. If that still doesn't work for you (although it should), then reading further down to Question 61 will point you to DDogg's FoolProof Method using Daemon Tools to aid the burning.

As for Nero not allowing the burning; if there's any question about the size being too large for burning, then go File-Preferences-Expert Features in Nero and check the "Enable Overburn" box, and set the max time to 82 minutes or so. Then, when you go File-Burn Image, if it gives you that "Filesize Too Large" message again, then set it to Disc At Once and try again. If the Bin File is above about 826,000 KB or so, I have to overburn. I'm using an older 5.5.6.9 version, and I don't know what's changed in more recent versions.

And there are other solutions for your problems also. I just passed along what works for me. And you may already have tried some of these things, but I couldn't quite understand everything you wrote. For example,
