Async audio when capturing to mpeg-2

Sorry, i think that this is a more appropriate title for the discussion!

Hi I tried capturing tv video using the winfast pvr software and I tried the mpeg-2 option of compression and when I try to open the video in vdubmod afterwords, it parses the mpeg-2 file and then after its done it gives me many of the same warnings:

MPEG: anachronistic or discontinuous timestamp found in video stream @ byte position 4941162514 (may indicate improper join).

the warnings are at different byte positions tho, and there are about 50 of these such warnings. Anyways, i encoded the video using gordian knot(i dont really know how to use avisynth) and when I played the encoded file back, the audio was out of sync.

In the beginning the audio is fine, for like the first 5 mins, but then the audio gets out of sync and increases as the movie goes on...thus i can't use the delay audio in vdub b/c the async audio gets more out of wack as the movie goes on.

I was just wondering if any1 had any ideas about how to solve it. I tried to use a constant bitrate mp3 file and mux it to the movie part, but that failed too(although it told me that an improper vbr mp3 header was found!).

many people are having the same problems ,as am I.
what i found in my research is that some tv signals are compressed more than others, depending on what the tv station is paying for bandwidth.There is a big problem in sharing satellite bandwidth, so they compress their signal far more than they should.
In my case if i capture from an old movie channel(TBS/AMC)and some 500 channels) my audio/video sync grows as the movie goes on. I thought it was my capture box, but i dont have any problems capturing other channels. i use the ADS instant dvd Box for capturing. It captures in real time as an mpeg 2 compliant file.
Our Tv's adjust for that but not the capture cards.

you should try to use a different capture software, there are many of them out there. Some adjust and capture great. Go online and d/l some demos.
