Burning DVD's from a DVDshrink file

I have been successful in ripping and viewing from my HDD and wanted to shrink the file to fit on one dvd-r disk so that it's playable in most dvd-rom drives. I have also been successful in shrinking that file with DVDshrink so that it will fit onto one disk. My question:
How do I burn all the shrunken files so that the movie is viewable?

My burning software is recordnowDX and click to dvd. The only way I can seem to burn the files is by making a data disc which wont play as a movie on a player. Can all the files that dvdshrink made from the one dvd decrypter iso file be burned as a movie like the iso file?

Thas's easy ! :-) Simply make a VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS directory somewhere (mind the capitals !) and move the *.VOB, *,IFO and *.BUP files created by DVDShrink to the VIDEO_TS directory. Now create in RecordNow a data disc, and drag the two directories into the window. (Yes, the AUDIO_TS direcotry is empty, but should be there for optimal compatibility.) Choose an appriopriate label (uppercase chars, no spaces, no weird characters) and burn the disc. Now it should play fine on your stand alone player.

(You may want to try it first with a +RW or -RW disc, just to be sure you get it right !)

Img tool doesn't do anything better , but u just point to the folder that holds the shrink file's and it will burn a playable dvd , so i guess its the ease of use .

Oh but it does!;) Especially on reallocation errors. Wait till CouJo, author of ImgTool, reads this post. He's usually hanging around the Burning forum though. Anyway, I've been strictly using ImgTool with Nero for a long time. I'm not preaching that it may work for everyone but what works for you, stick with it.

ImgToolBurn always gives me Power Calibration Errors (as does Nero), while DVDDecrypter never fails to burn with no problems.

Well. y'all got me interested so I had to go research ImgTool. I do not see what it does that Nero does not do. It does seem to have less user interaction to make a backup but other than that it does not appear any better.

If ImgTool runs using a demo version of Nero, then I see the big advantage. I bought the full Nero product so I am not sure what else it does.

Argh... maybe I'm a little late...

Every setting done in ImgTool Burn is also available in Nero. Have you checked it? The main advantage of ImgTool Burn is to make the burn process as easy as possible. Just install ImgTool Burn 1.00.9, right click on your DVD root dir, select "Burn with ImgTool" ... that's all.
ImgTool Burn works with Nero Demo, also if the Demo has expired... but then only 1x writing will be possible.

Maybe I do something different as Nero does (per default) but all the possibilities are also in Nero, but not that easy...

like windtrader stated, its just easier to use. I've burned about 100
dvd's with img tool and no errors or coaster to this day! Not saying nero is inferior, i've just stuck with whats been working for me.

after you finish encoding all the files with dvdshrink, open up Nero. click on "dvd-video" click new. then double click on the "video-ts" folder. drag all the files that u made with dvdshrink over to nero then click "burn." simple as that. you don't need anything else.

Why don't you just take the files you made with DVDshrink and burn then with CopyToDVD (http://www.copytocd.com/) thats what works for me.:cool:

oh yea i did over 50 dvds this way. very simple :D

I agree with darklord. Use DVD Decrypter. It has the best iso burn around. Strange how every verbatum +R I insert into decrypter turns out to be a RICOH. And when I had the earlier version it was RITEK. HMMM>
