View Full Version : WTF? DVD Decrypter (v3.1.6) Compresses to **WinRAR**??!!!......

I just finished decrypting some DVDs for backup.

When finished decrypting, it puts it into WINRAR format along with a non-compressed MDF File!

Huh? WTF?

Why does DVD Decrypter 3.1.6 "Zip" the file?!

So naturally in order to burn the file straight OR use DVD2ONE for large files, I must FIRST UNDO (i.e. "unzip") the Winrar compression.

After uncompression, it WON'T BURN the uncompressed Video_TS and Audio_TS files like before when I had DVD Decrypter 1.0.

The "old" DVD Decrypter 1.0 NEVER had this compression zipping scheme.

And what is this "MDF" file anyways? Is it essential for burning?........

MDS files are explained here: http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=48839
DVD Decrypter isn't zipping anything. WinRAR is simply associated with the .iso extension, so you think the file is zipped. Check the integration settings of WinRAR to change.
Burn the .iso with anything you want, or mount the iso (using Daemon Tools and the MDS file) for processing in DVD2One.
Keep using DVD Decrypter 1.0 if you can't figure out 3.1.6, but don't come here and complain because of your own ineptness.
Cheers.
