is it possible to put in subtitles to an svcd already made ???

Yes, you can put in "soft" (selectable) subs ... BUT: only standalones will be able to play them back (and not all standalones will do it).

Your options are (to my knowledge):

(win)submux - Freeware. Will mux svcd-style and cvd-style subs. Some players will only pb one of the two types, some will accept both, some neither. You can apparently have a mix of both styles in one svcd under some conditions (do a search of the forum).

I-Author - no longer commercially available outside of China. CVD-style subs. Some people prefer this. Very critical about the max. bitrate (the muxing will fail or some subs won'T be displayed).

Philips SVCD toolkit. SVCD style subs.

As mentioned above, software players will NOT show these subs. If you want hard-coded subs, re-encoding is required. For testing if your SA is svcd-subtitle-literate, get the sample svcd image files from vcdhelp.com .
