View Full Version : Chapter bug for AVI2DVD

When setting chapters to a fixed interval in Scenarist (cannot use original chapters since there are none in the avi) at the end of the first chapter the video skips about 2 chapter's worth of video (i think - about 10 mins on the films I've tried). This has happened on every film I've done.

Oddly, after the first chapter all is fine.

Has anyone else been having this problem? Would it be possible to have an option to not put any chapters in at all (I don't find it particularly useful to put chapters in at random points in the film anyway)? Or is this already possible (can't figure out how)?

A workaround more than a fix but it should work. Use fixed chapters but make the chapter interval longer than the movie. That should get you a film with no chapters if that's what you'd prefer.

Ok, good idea thanks.

If everyone else getting this bug though?

I deleted my previous post because it was wrong, so with 4 mins fixed chapters at avi2dvd the chapters are all mixed up. I have one chapter skipped to get that after another and so on. So belgain is right.

I've been having the exact same problem with mixed up chapters in scenarist. Works perfectly for dvd conversion but not avi's. Is there any way round this because i prefer to have chapters or is it something we have to live with? Any help would be great.

In all honesty I haven't found an "automated" solution to this problem - ie some settings you could change to make it work. However, if you select not to make images and author manually from the output files using TMPGEnc DVD Author (or similar, there are many softwares for this, I just happen to find TMPGDA the easiest) you can make your own vobs quickly and easily and insert chapters at a chosen fixed interval at a stroke.

The only problem is it doesn't support subtitles.

TMPGDA if you have never tried it comes on 30-day fully functional free trial (pegasys.com)

Hope this helps.
