View Full Version : Undersized files using using AVI2DVD with CCE...

I'm converting an avi to a DVD, and the file came out at 2.5 GB! I use the standard CCE settings except changing number of passes from 3 to 1.
What settings should I change to get the files to come out the right size? Target filesize is 4350 MB here.
I also tried the D2SRoBa plugin for 1pass, but it doesn't seem to work at all (DVD2SVCD just ignores it completely. I made sure not to minimise DVD2SVCD during the process.

I've now tried again, this time using the default CCE setting rather than the setting DVD2SVCD uses. Again, the file cam out only about half the size it should have done.
How are people getting the files to come out about the right size? I'm finding it surprisingly hard to find this simple information in the forum. The guides on doom9 are for manual tweaking rather than generic settings, and most of the posts in the CCE forum seems to be too.
I'll head over to www.dvdrhelp.com to see if I can find some good settings there. Help would be much appreciated though. Anywa, thanks in advance. Am getting quite desperate and almost conidering going back to TMPGEnc...

Right...I've tried doing a 3-pass VBR instead of 1-pass in case it simply needed more passes to allocate the bitrate properly. The file still comes out undersized though...
I'm looking at doing a total of one (if possible with decent size prediction) or 2 passes. Is the D2SRoBa plugin (for one-pass vbr) supposed to work for AVI2DVD by the way?
