ive just spent some time looking through the posts and found a few bits but not exactly what i wanted to here anywho here goes when dvd2vcd runs scenarist it more or less completes everything but when i came to my pc i saw this message, check file system error could not create image(dvd2vcd said layout failed) i know this is a known error but what is the fix(version 2.7.0.0241).by the way it sounds daft but it actually created all the dvd files and they work fine,so what are you moaning about i here you say, just curious!

yeah had a look and couldnt find anything in particular, perhaps there is a slight incompatability issue between some of the software im using?even so although it didnt create the image it did create all the vts's etc to make it a compliant dvd so i guess as long as it does that im happy!

ok I've found that when I chose DTS audio I'd get a bitrate too high error. Well I first tried setting Max. 8000 and voila it worked..then Max. 8500 and voila it worked.

Some interesting tidbits about this is...in Scenarist the default setting for bitrate is 8000000 or Max. 8000 I think that's right. Also dvd2dvd-r Max. allowable setting is 7500. RB (doom9 user) once emailed me IIRC and said something how he wish he could set it higher to like 8300 I think it was? Thus that's why he used dvd2svcd.

So please set it to 8500 and see if there are errors..RB it'd be great if you could chime in and say what you think is the best default Max. bitrate.
