hi guys,

Is it possible to create a full screen movie using dvd shrink. Ive been using it for about a month now, but can figure out how to make a full screen presentation. Is this at all possible, or is it just apart of the compression process>>>>>>>>>>>>>??

If I understand correctly, you want to turn a widescreen movie into a fullscreen movie? If so, DVDShrink will not do this.

Also, by doing this, you'll cut off important parts of the movie, as you won't be able to pan in order to see all the action, as fullscreen editions from film studios do.

well most of the movies i am using are in widescreen, however after rip them using dvd shrink, their in widescreen. I was wondering if this was normal, or was there a way to keep them in full screen format.

OK ............. I completely screwed that last post up.
What I was trying to explain was that most of the movies that i am ripping are in FULL SCREEN format. After i rip and burn them, they all come out in WIDE SCREEN (skinny screen) format. Is this normal?????? Sorry about the last post.

Are you reauthoring, stripping unwanted bits or doing a 1:1 copy? If you're reauthoring chances are there's both a full screen and widescreen version on the original dvd, and you're picking the wrong one.

Mostly reauthoring, but i never thought about there being 2 formats on the disc. Ill have to check that out.

make sure you don't have your standalone dvd player set to 16:9 mode ...put it to 4:3 letterbox. Always test in PowerDVD or WinDVD.
