View Full Version : Scenarist takes a very long time to run...normal?

I just did my first avi to DVD conversion using the latest version (build 2). It worked very well, except Scenarist took about 45 mins to run. Is this normal? It seems awfully long for just creating a DVD image... This is for a 100 minute film by the way.

The other thing is (maybe this should go to the bug tracker?) that if don't delete any files isn't checked, Scenarist fails to create the image. I guess DVD2SVCD probably deletes one of the files it needs. Just a small bug.

Other than that, really great work on the latest version...donation coming your way, and keep up the good work!

Yes, that is normal. Of course it depends on the speed of your system too. My P4 2.4 uses about 30-40 minutes depending on what movie I'm converting.

Ok...just wondering.

What exactly is it that Scnearist does? Does it take as input an unmuxed video file and an audio file, and then mux them and split them appropriately for DVD-Video (and create the rest of the small files)?

This is what scenarist does:
1. Import and validation of the files
2. Muxing of Video, Audio and any subtitles there might be (DVD-Muxed folder)
3. Creation of the DVD image (DVD-Image folder)
