OK, I'm a fairly newbie at this.

The Blocks:
-I tried using DVDShrink (2.3, Beta 1 & Beta 5) only to get the blocks of pixels in my movies.

I don't think its the media I'm using b/c I burned the same movie on two seperate disks only to recieve the blocks in the exact same spots.

I also used DVDToolbox and the movie came out fine, unfortunately it was only the movie and not the menu + extras.
What could be the problem here?

Also, in CoptoDVD I get a "This drive cannot change to DVD-ROM" error. What can I do to change my drive so that it CAN change to ROM?

I'm also getting a writing error fairly often now, but I don't remember the exact specs on it, so I'll come back to you w/ full details when it occurs again.

thanks for the help and the site guys
John

How large was the original disk? How long is the movie? What compression ratio did you use?

The blocks you are seeing are probably the result of too much compression.

See if there is something you can discard that you won't miss, like a foriegn audio track, or a redundant track (you don't really need 5.1 AC3 *and* DTS). If not, see if you can selectively turn some of the extras into stills.

If you can't get good quality and keep everything you want, you'll have to consider splitting to 2 disks.
