Hi Guys..

i recently reencoded 24 - series 2 as to compress onto 3 x DVDr..

after reencoding all of the episodes a very strange thing happened..

23 of the mpgs are:

mpg 2 video
24bits , 720 x 576
25.000 fps
variable bit rate (max 9500kbs)

but for some unholy reason one of the files came out as

mpg 2 video
24bits , 720 x 576
29.970 fps
variable bit rate (max 9500kbs)

does anyone know what went wrong ?
can i do anything to change this file to 25 fps?

all files were from a pal source , dvd2svcd v1.1.3 cce 2.50

help me please.

fenster

btw i posted in dvd2svcd thread but got no advice back..

I can only imagine that you accidentaly ticked the "PAL to NTSC" checkbox in DVD2SVCD. AFAIK, there's no way to reverse this process, you'll have to re-encode.

Thanks for the reply RB ,

NTSC - PAL was definatly not checked although it would seem so.

it happened a few months ago on something else i was working on but after another re-encode all was well.

problem is that i dont have the 24 vob files anymore (long story)

also - virtual dub - shows the file as:
720x 576 , 23.976 fps , 935 kbps.

the plot thickens...

The resolution is still PAL though...

You can change the framerate to 25 using pulldown.exe, that may very well result in unusable video (I don't understand framerates much), but you could still try it out.
