I have two DVD stand alones, one of them is quite happy if I feed it a DVD structure burned to CD with Nero or WinOnCd in Iso or UDF mode.
The other (better of the two) refuses every UDF combination either of the two buner programs provides and if I use ISO9660 it starts in file mode!

So having constant success burning DVDs with these two programs has never lead me to try an "image tool" or any other program to burn with.
What should I try next to make a compliant MiniDVD ?

thanks

Uh - yes I know where the guides are, in fact that guide is more on how to make a DVD structure and doesn't answer my question at all.
Maybe my topic title is a little missleading. I'll change it from:
"How to make a MiniDVD "
"How to burn a MiniDVD "

If the only difference between DVD and MiniDVD is the size of the medium then the guide should concentrate on that difference and not on the making of a DVD which I'm sure is covered elsewhere.

So has anyone come across the same problem ?
Any solution in the form of burning an image rather than what Nero and WinOnCD can do ?

Does anyone ever make MiniDVDs these days ?

Uhm, I will admit that the guide is not entirely clear, however, I think the section on generating an image would be somewhat self-explanatory, but I guess not :(

In any event, download the latest ImgTool (http://doom9.org/Soft21/Vobtools/Classic_0.90B5.zip). Then, point it to your directory containing VIDEO_TS and make a pseudo drive. Generate an image of that pseudo drive. Delete pseudo drive. Burn image in your favorite .img supporting program (Prassi, DVD Decrypter, etc.)

Please NOTE those instructions are based upon ImgTool_089, some things may have changed slightly in 90, but the basic premise is the same

Hope that helps.

Ok - thanks I'll test that method!

The file-system for DVDs is UDF, it also works for miniDVDs in my
(cheap) standalone.
