VCD/SVCD playback in MPC

Now that Gabest's Media Player Classic has a builtin MPEG1/2 decoder, shouldn't it basically be able to play back SVCDs? I tried with the latest version (6.4.6.2) but I get no sound, the playback is jerky and stops completely after like 8 seconds or so, but the timer keeps running and MPC keeps hogging 100% of the CPU. PowerDVD plays these SVCDs just fine. Am I doing something wrong or is this not supposed to work yet?

if powerdvd plays your (s)vcd fine, why would you uses MPC; i'm not saying you shouldn't, it's your chose, do as you will, but i'm just curiuos in why?

Because if MPC could play SVCDs and DVDs then I could consolidate all my media playing to MPC. Also, commercial playing apps are far less flexible. These may not seem good enough reasons to you but since MPC supposedly supports MPEG2 it would seem a waste to me if it could not play back SVCDs properly.

I have experienced the same symptoms with WMP 9 sometimes. I guess it has to do something with the codecs, but I have not fixed it.

The thing is, MPC does not use any external codecs for playback of SVCDs(or at least this is how I think it works).

Problem solved - MPC v6.4.6.3 fixes the playback bug.
