by using a video editing program not cce
and not posting this in the advanced dvd authoring forum, moving it to mpeg 1/2 encoders till i can work out what to do with the thread.

Are you already using CCE? If so what method are you using (vdub, vfapi, Avisynth, strait AVI, ect).
If you don't have a method already the easiest way is probably to use an anti-logo filter for Virtualdub. There are several out there (X-logo, Delogo, logoaway, ect) and the most basic can blackout or blur a section of the screen.
You could also check the avisynth forum for more info on logo removal. I'm sure others have discussed how to import a vdub anti-logo filter or perhaps someone has ported or written a native Avisynth plugin.
I'm sure more advanced video editing programs like Premiere could easily do this, but that's probably overkill.
If you do a search for 'logo removal' you'll get a good start.
