I have a strange problem in GK. When VirtualDubMod is finished with the second pass and it is suposed to mix the video and the audio i get this error: The Function SetMode was called on a Stream[?] That Hasn't Been Previously Initialized with SetSource.
First I deleted DVD2SVCD wich I recently installed but that diden't work, so I uninsalled GK and installed it again, but that did not work eather, so I tried Uninstalling everything (I mean: GK, DivX, Nimo++) and installed everything again, but it still doesn't work.
I get the same error in DivX 5.05 and XviD.
What is the problem?

which version of GK are you using?
I bet you are using local (non-english) filenames for soundtrack and not the latest (0.28.5.2) GK. That was a problem in previous versions with local characters in the file names...

Also, when you want to uninstall gnot, go to the options page first and click on the delete registry keys button to clean up the windows registry. This will ensure that when you reinstall, you get new entries.

I think that is the problem, because i have the letter ä in the soundtrack file.
Thanks:)
I will report back when I have testet it

Rather than start a new thread i will ask a question here as I am getting the same error. However I do NOT have a non english character in the sound file name (MOVIES AC3 T01 3_2ch 448Kbps DELAY 0ms.ogg) - unless you class the underscore as non-english?
Any further ideas?
G Knot ver - 0.28.7
I assume i can simply mux the sound file back in myself?
Update (and other beware) - well maybe not, if you OK the Error, virtual dub closes and you loose the whole avi, especially anoying if you have set the "delete intermediate files" option! Oh well. only another 8 hours left to go again again.
PS - just tried removing the spaces and undeerscores in the sound file and ran though G Knot again canceling virtual dub on the film encodes, but still get exactly the same error.

Is it because you're using ogg audio rather than mp3 or another common avi soundtrack methodology? I don't use ogg, but if I recall correctly, it needs to be muxed in ogm, matroska, or another non-avi container.

Many thanks, but as still a bit of a newbie here I'm guessing that these things you mention above are different programs. I will check the doom pages but it's late and it Christmas and santa hasn't been yet.
[Edit} Ok - a little reading later and I get what you mean, the things you mentione are in themselves file types. AVI is just and envelope to hold a few other file type - sound, video et. The file types you are simply alternatives to AVI, correct?
I thought AVI files themselves could support OGG audio files though? I'm sure I have AVI's with ogg sudio's in the past. Still it looks as though it may cause other problems as I'm looking to get a stand alone DivX play at some point, and MP3 seems to be the standard.
[/EDIT]
Happy Xmas.
BTW, I used ogg as a first time simply because it was avalibale as an option within R4R (that comes with GKnot) and it seemed like a good idea. I thought I maybe usfull later to try and convert full 5.1 sound into this format. Also, from what I have heard myself, it does seem to be a good sound fomat in comparison to the compression levels.

Just to add a little info - I encoded my ac3 with besweet as Mp3-wave and am getting the same error, with try plain mp3, with a short clip and see if that works.
