help with multi-episodes anime with Ifoedit

After reading the muti-episode guide by 2-COOL and other people, I want to put some muti-episode anime into DVD-R without decrease the resolution.

I am trying to put 2 DVD-9 worth of anime episodes into 3 DVD. There are total of 9 episodes on these DVD. I used Ifoedit to create IFO, fixed audio and subtitle.

One problem I found was it will play the first episode three times. Can anyone guild me to solve this problem?

Just wondering...are you working with episodes from different anime series? I was going to suggest using VOBedit to join clips (see below)but at the end, if you created new IFOs for your combined movie, you might run into problems. Ideally, in order for your combined episodes to work, everything attribute has to be the same. e.g. audio, subtitle colors, aspect ratio. You movie has only one IFO with one Program Chain (PGC) now and it's impossible to switch between different attributes of the movie during play. I hope you can understand.

Your best bet if you want to keep subtitles is to author your DVDs.

Joining Clips (VOBs) in VOBedit

1. Renaming your VOBs accordingly. First VOB will always have an extension "001"

VTS_##_#.VOB > VTS_01_002.VOB
VTS_##_#.VOB > VTS_01_003.VOB
VTS_##_#.VOB > VTS_01_004.VOB
VTS_##_#.VOB > VTS_01_005.VOB
VTS_##_#.VOB > VTS_01_006.VOB
VTS_##_#.VOB > VTS_01_007.VOB
VTS_##_#.VOB > VTS_01_008.VOB

2. Open VTS_01_001.VOB with VOBedit 0.60

3. Go to title bar and select Edit / Join Clips.

4. Save VTS_01_1.VOB to a different empty folder.

5. In First VOB-ID field, enter "1" and press OK to begin processing.

TIP: Speed Up VOBEdit Process

Drag the processing window to the bottom of the screen so it is below the bottom edge of your bottom task bar and not visible. Works better than having the window in the center of screen.;)

6. When processing window is gone, your VOBs have been combined in your folder. Close VOBEdit. ________________________________________________
7. Now, use IFOedit to "Create New IFOs". Select VTS_01_1.VOB. Here's the guide (http://mpucoder.kewlhair.com/Derrow/createifo.html). Use the TIP above also in IFOedit.

8. When done, select VIDEO_TS.IFO in main window and click on "Get VTS sectors" button. Click Yes ofr uppercase conversions and OK for any following windows demanding corrections.

9. Click on "DVD Play" button to test your movie.

10. If you have subtitles present, they will be shown green and fuzzy. Use this guide (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&postid=283424#post283424) to fix it.

11. When you go to your VTS_01_0.IFO / VTS Overview / Title Set (movie) attributes, all your audio and subtitles are now configured as "Not Specified". We need to correct that.

For your audio, double left click on line for your audio attributes window. Most of the time, you know what language this audio is supposed to be. Look at your original IFO to configure your new one accordingly. Most of the time, the two main dropdown menus you need to to play with are your Language and Language Type. Langauge Type will need to be "present". Repeat for other audio language.

For your subtitles, it's pretty much the same thing as above. Use your original IFO to help you on corrections.

Thanks for the quick reply. I am actually wanted to backup Excel Saga 1 & 2. I though instead of split each DVD to two disks, I can combine the vobs into just 3 DVD-R. There are total of 9 episodes, with each episode of approximate 1.3 GB.

I follow your comment on the multi-episode and from dvd2dvdr.com. The only things I didn’t do are using dvd2one. Everything appears to be fine until I try to play it. It seems to have some indexing problem. It can only play the first episode three times.

I am thinking that Ifoedit probably confuse by the fact that the vob files is like this:

1 1.04 G
2 200M
3 1.04 G
4 200M
5 1.04 G
6 200M

If I can re-combine the file into this way:

1 1G
2 1G
3 1G
4 600M

Then it probably will work. Do you have any good idea how to do this? I never use Vobedit can you help me out?
