Hello!
I have tested Adobe Encore. It looks nice, but I have a big problem:
When I make a project and use preview itīs all ok. But after saving a project, preview doesnīt work properly any more. Buttons are moved over the screen, no button is there where it should be. For example: I have a button placed over text. In preview the textīs position is still all right, but the button (that should be exactly over this text) is about 2-3 cm moved up.
The bigger problem: Itīs not a bug in Preview! It is the same when exporting to DVD-folder! So I see no chance to creat only a very simple DVD.
Can you help me?
I have there two pictures so you can see better what I mean:

I don't know why it's doing this, but why don't you move it down 2-3 cm so that when it goes up, it goes in the right place.

itīs not the same displacement in every menu. Before exporting itīs hard to say where the buttons will be after.
Now I know not saving is the problem. Itīs everytime when I export a project with more than one menu or more then 1 or 2 links on a menu. Itīs a disaster! Iīm interesting if other people have the same problem with that software. OK, itīs version 1.0, but I canīt believe that there was no betatester who noticed that. This program simply is unusable with this bug!
All I want is a DVD authoring software that has all the functionality I need, is stable, with good photoshop integration and easy to use. But I think when you want this you need a Mac. DVD authoring for Windows is a disaster!

a good authoring program for a good price is where you want a mac (DVD Studio Pro 2.0, mine should ship this week)
for the PC, the best for the mid range is DVDLab or ReelDVD, and for the highend is DVDMaestro and Scen.
i havent tried Encore, but i will try to play with a version of it in the next week or so.
one thing you should try is dont put the buttons all the way to the edge of the frame.

I tried DVDlab. This program cannot read *.psd-Files very good. This is very very fine in DVD Encore. You can work with layer as in Photoshop, and if you want special effects, you can edit menus on the fly in photoshop. So with DVD Encore it is possible to create wonderful menus with very nice effects. In DVDLab it is not possible or very hard to realize. With DVD Encore it is possible to create menus completely in PS. You can define Layers as buttons, subicture and backround. Other Layers for effects and masks are accepted, too.
But, what du you mean with:
"one thing you should try is dont put the buttons all the way to the edge of the frame."?
Never mind wher you place the buttons. This "displacing problem" is always there. The Menu you can see in the links from my first post above is a precast sample menu from Encore. The buttons are already on the place you can see in the screenhot from my sample. I have not changed the position of the buttons. Nevertheless the problem is there. I tried menus with buttons in the middle of the screen - same problem.
So, try Encore "next week or so" and inform me if you have the problem, too!

scf33865, are you using a beta? My version of Encore doesn't do that. I even tried it with that stock menu you used. The early beta that leaked on the net had a lot of bugs...

I think I might know what the problem is. When you select your button, look at the "layers" window. Your button should be highlighted, and have a folder icon next to it. Click the arrow next to the folder to see the contents (everything that makes up the button). You should see an item called "(=1)highlight". Tthat is what you must manipulate to control where the button actually is. Once you move the text, the button itself is still where the text used to be until you move it. That is why you have text positioned correctly, but the button itself is not.
I encountered this when moving buttons around. If baffled me until I figured it out. It's not really a bug, just not very intuitive. The object and the button itself should be made to automatically move at the same time, but then again, the way it is now you have more control over what is highlighted and size, location of highlighting.
