Hi,

in another forum I saw that someone ( digital.arts ) put the capture guide into a PDF ready for download. Maybe someone is interested in it.

Direct Link to the guide:

Link to the thread in the dvdboard:

Thanks Karl for the information.

BTW: I just want to say goodbye to you all, I wont continue my work as a mod here in this forum, since I dont have the time to go on. Thanks to doom9 for this great site and to all of you for bringing this great knowledge to this place, helping me to learn some things how to capture...

Please continue this great work !!!

I will look into this forum from time to time to be sure you do. :)

Nice and detailed guide.

However, I didn't see any note about incompability of V Dub and his Mods with Win2K/XP/NT. It's known that capture with higher resolutions of 288 is not possible in such combination due to limitations of vfwwdm wrapper, required because XP works with WDM drivers, and V Dub is designed for VFW drivers.
This is source of many troubles and misunderstanding - when people blames card, drivers or V Dub for this limitation.

I recall that there was a registry patch which enabled full resolution captures through the VfWWDM wrapper. I did it myself a few times, and it worked. Sorry that I don't have the hack at hand now, but I think it was a limitation of the WDM driver of the TV card, not the wrapper itself.

No! WDM driver for my Pinnacle card certainly has not such limitation - programs with WDM support, like IuVCR, Virtual VCR & FlyDS all can capture at full vert. This is why I posted that there is many misinterpretation.

I looked with google for registry patch, but didn't find. Could you take some effort and give that patch for us here? :)
