other:
this is a television show i'm attempting to encode to svcd using the latest build of avi2svcd (avisynth 2.08) and tmpgenc plus.

avi2svcd crashes just after besweet attempts/starts to encode the extraced audio.

likely this is something simple...but i've searched for several days now to no avail for an answer!

any information/input would be greatly appreciated.

I'd recommend trying the latest beta of BeSweet. There have been several recent MP2 fixes IIRC. What error message do you get ?

- is this correct? do u have mp2, mp3 or wav input? i guess it's mp3, but what's this name then (?.mp2.wav?) is everything ok with this input?
- are u sure about the input frequency (22kHz)? i've never seen such a low bitrate mp3 (55kbps?), so i'm not sure about, but maybe it's (much) lower.
- your input is an xtremly low bitrate abr/vbr mpr, so the quality is ... what do you xpect from the upsampling? ok, u go for svcd, so u must transcode, but 112/128 cbr would be enough, imho. higher bitrates are just wasting space (imho!) you wont gain anything with upsampling, so keep the minimum requirements.

imho, u mismatched the things here, anyway. i guess 112kbsp is your audio, as 112kbps xvid is nonsense (as is 55kbps mp3).

kpex: upgraded to the beta of besweet, and no solution there! thanks for the input though! much appreciated!

yaz: the information i've placed in my post is straight from the 'properties' description of the file! not sure what else to say about that. i've downloaded multiple different episodes of the tv program....and for an unknow reason, some of them are at this low bitrate (55kbps), though most are at 127-129kbps, and i'm having NO problems encoding them to SVCD or VCD (the quality is fairly low, so i've opted to use VCD from here on out). Am i correct in my logic that besweet is unable to handle low quality audio for whatever reason? how can i approach this (creating VCD's from the programs) if this is true?

any further information would be greatly appreciated!

also, there is no error in the dvd2svcd log in regards to this, as besweet just basically crashes, and i get the old 'send error report to Microsoft?' box....of course i do not....and dvd2svcd simply rolls on. until there's no audio to mux in.

(gonna try to get a screenshot of the properties box for the file sometime here soon)

thanks,

lane
