View Full Version : Using Nero Recode "disable"

I have been using the "disable" feature in Nero Recode, to do different things, I think some of them may be of interrest to others.
:)
I personaly use Recode to do my DVD's, I use the disable feature to replace any extras and menus I do not want.
I usualy keep the copyright warning, for the next step, as it plays the whole time, even if I replace it.

When the transcoding is done, I load the new DVD into Recode again, select a size that is bigger than my DVD, so Recode only touches the things I want it to, this time I chose a picture I want to have instead of the copyright warning, and select disable for the warning. :D

I also use Dimad's Menu edit to disable buttons, then I use the same method as above to change the background of the menu. (remember to keep the subtitle of the menu, as this is the menu/highlighting, that you use to select something.) :D

This can be done even if you prefer another method to reencode/transcode your DVD.

To do this I have made a profile, where I keep all audio & subtitles and where I have unticked the "Remove all audio tracks and subtitles for disabled video files" (I still check it manualy, as Recode usualy wants to dump all audio/subs of menus, and love miniature english audio tracks for the main movie)
:D :D

When I change pictures like this, I save the project to HD between each one, as I think Recode uses the same picture for all disabled items. :)

It can also be used to convert a size hogging animated/video menu into an ordinary menu, use PowerDVD to save a screenshot of the menu, then use this as the background picture for disabling.
This should be used on the full DVD, before recoding, if you want more space for the main movie.:)

That's a good one, Mort!
